Warkawarka facts for kids
The Warkawarka people, sometimes called Weki Weki, are an Aboriginal Australian group. They traditionally lived in a part of Victoria, Australia. Some experts believe they were a separate group. Others think they were a smaller part of a larger group called the Wergaia people.

What's in a Name?
The name Warkawarka might come from their word for 'no' (warki=warka). It's also possible that their name is a different way to say the name of the Wergaia people.
Where Did They Live?
The Warkawarka people's traditional lands covered about 2,000 square miles (5,180 square kilometers). This area stretched from Tyrrell Creek and Lake Tyrrell south towards Warracknabeal and Birchip. Their western boundary was near Hopetoun, and they also lived around the Morton Plains.
