A Historic Trade

One of the earliest recorded trades happened on April 6, 1636. This event is written in the official records of the Connecticut Colony. During this trade, the Warranocke tribe exchanged corn for a gun. This shows how early interactions between Native Americans and European settlers involved trading goods. These trades were important for both groups as they learned to live in the new environment together.
