The Story of Warrenton
How Warrenton Began
Warrenton was first planned out and marked on a map in the year 1805. This process is called "platting," and it's how new communities are organized. Just one year later, in 1806, a post office was opened in Warrenton. This was an important step for the community, as it helped people send and receive mail. The post office served the area for many years, finally closing its doors in 1911.
