Warrington W. Hudlin Jr., born on July 16, 1952, is an American film director, producer, and actor. He is known for creating movies and helping other filmmakers.

Early Life and Family
Warrington Hudlin grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois. His mother, Helen, was a teacher, and his father, Warrington W. Hudlin Sr., worked in insurance and also taught.
Warrington has a younger brother named Reginald Hudlin. Reginald is also a director and producer. Together, the Hudlin brothers have worked on several films. These include House Party (1990), Bebe's Kids (1992), and Ride (1998). Their other brother, Christopher Hudlin, took over their father's insurance business.
A Career in Film and Martial Arts
Warrington Hudlin has had an exciting career in both filmmaking and martial arts. He has directed and produced many projects.
Supporting Filmmakers
In 1978, Hudlin helped start the Black Filmmaker Foundation (BFF). This organization is a non-profit group that supports Black filmmakers. He founded it with professor George Cunningham and businessman Alric Nembhard. Hudlin was the president of the BFF for many years. The BFF helps new filmmakers learn and share their stories.
Martial Arts and Documentaries
Hudlin has a strong interest in martial arts. In 1974, he earned a black belt in jiu-jitsu. He even made a documentary short film in 1980 called Capoeira of Brazil. This film won an award at the American Film Festival.
For several years, Hudlin has also put together a special film series. It's called Fist and Sword and features martial arts and action movies. This series is shown at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York.
