Warrior’s Refuge is the second book in a special comic series called original English-language manga. It's based on the super popular Warriors series by Erin Hunter. This comic was released on December 26, 2007, by a company called Tokyopop. It came out at the same time as Dark River, another Warriors book.

This story follows two brave cats, Graystripe and Millie. They are on an important journey to find Graystripe's home, ThunderClan. The amazing drawings in the book were created by James Barry.

What Happens in the Story

The adventure starts with Graystripe and Millie seeing Highstones in the distance. This is a big landmark that tells them they are getting closer to home. As they travel through a tall cornfield, a huge farm machine called a combine chases them. Graystripe and Millie get separated while trying to escape this noisy monster.

Graystripe manages to reach a nearby barn. He asks the cats living there for help finding Millie. The barn cats agree to help him. They soon find Millie, but her eyes are hurt from the sharp corn leaves. The barn cats kindly let Graystripe and Millie stay until Millie feels better.

Husker, one of the barn cats, explains their story. They used to live in a nearby "Twoleg nest," which is what cats call a human house. But the humans who lived there passed away. A new family moved in and didn't like cats, so they chased them out. Since then, the cats have lived in the barn. They often have to deal with the new humans' dogs.

Facing the Dogs

One day, Graystripe and Millie meet the family's pet dogs in the barn. Millie surprises everyone because she can understand and even speak "dog"! She uses this skill to send the dogs away. The barn cats are amazed by Millie's talent. She then teaches them how to "speak dog" too.

A few days later, Millie and Graystripe see a "Twoleg kit," which is a human child. The child is chasing a frog and gets too close to the edge of a pond. Graystripe quickly gets the child's attention and leads her away from danger. The child's parents are very thankful to the cats for saving their child.

A New Home and Continuing the Journey

Over time, the humans start to accept the barn cats. Thanks to a clever plan by Graystripe, the humans even adopt the barn cats as their own "kittypets." This means the barn cats now have a safe and loving home.

With Millie feeling better and the barn cats settled, Graystripe and Millie continue their journey home. However, when they finally reach the forest, they find something terrible. The entire territory is destroyed, and ThunderClan is nowhere to be found. Their quest to find home is far from over.
