Watson, Ohio facts for kids
Watson is a small place in Ohio, United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government, like a city or a town. Instead, it's part of the larger Seneca County.
A Look Back: Watson's History
Watson used to be known by a slightly different name: Watsons Station. This name was used when a post office opened there in 1854. A post office is where people send and receive mail.
Later, in 1882, the name of the post office and the community was changed to just Watson. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed its doors in 1923.
Besides the post office, Watson was once a busy little spot. It had a railroad station, which was important for travel and moving goods. There was also a general store where people could buy everyday items. And a grain elevator helped local farmers store their crops.
