Welcome is a small place in southeastern Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a settled area that doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Welcome is located near Lithia-Pinecrest Road and Keysville Road. It is most famous for being home to the beautiful Alafia River State Park.

Exploring Welcome's Past

Welcome was first settled a long time ago, towards the end of the 1800s. In 1905, a train line called the Seaboard Railroad helped people and goods travel to and from the town. However, this train service stopped in 1916. This happened because the main reason the trains came to Welcome, which was to transport lumber, was no longer needed once the local wood supply ran out.

Learning in Welcome

Students living in the Welcome area attend schools managed by Hillsborough County Schools. Younger students go to Pinecrest Elementary. After that, they move on to Turkey Creek Middle School. Finally, older students attend Durant High School to complete their education.
