When Did the Park Open?

Wellington Country Park first opened its gates in 1974. It was officially opened by the 8th Duke of Wellington, Valerian Wellesley, and his wife, Diana Wellesley, the Duchess of Wellington. They wanted to create a wonderful place for people to enjoy nature and outdoor activities.

Stay Overnight at the Campsite

If you want to extend your adventure, Wellington Country Park also has a campsite. This means you can stay overnight and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the park after the main attractions close for the day. Campers even get special access to some of the children's play areas when the park is closed to day visitors.
