Career Highlights
Wes Archer was one of the first three animators who worked on The Simpsons when it started as short cartoons on Tracey Ullman. He later directed many episodes of The Simpsons. Many of these episodes were written by John Swartzwelder.
After his time on The Simpsons, Wes became a supervising director for King of the Hill. This means he helped guide how the animation and stories were put together. He then moved to direct episodes for Futurama, another popular animated show. Later, he returned to King of the Hill and continued to supervise its direction until the very last season.
He also worked as a consulting director for the final season of King of the Hill. After that, he joined The Goode Family as a supervising director. When that show didn't continue, he worked on Bob's Burgers for its first three seasons.
In 2015, Wes Archer joined the team for Rick and Morty. He directed three episodes in the second season. From seasons three through seven, he was the supervising director for Rick and Morty.
Even before his big TV career, Wes made a college animation film called "Jac Mac and Rad Boy, Go!". This film became very popular and was shown many times on a TV show called Night Flight in the 1980s. He studied animation at a famous art school called CalArts.
Currently, Wes Archer is back as the supervising director for the new episodes of King of the Hill. This shows how much he loves working on the show!
