Businesses and Changes

Along the shoreline, you might see some small businesses related to the ocean, like those that help with boats. West Juneau used to have a grocery store, which was a convenient place for residents to buy food. However, this store was removed to make space for a roundabout. A roundabout is a circular intersection that helps traffic flow smoothly. This new roundabout is located at the end of the Juneau-Douglas Bridge, which connects Douglas Island to the main part of Juneau.
