West Lebanon, Ohio facts for kids
West Lebanon is a small place in Wayne County, Ohio. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History
People first started living in West Lebanon in 1808. Later, in 1833, the area was officially planned out. This means they drew maps to show where streets and buildings would go. West Lebanon got its name from a place in Pennsylvania called West Lebanon. One of the first people to settle here came from that Pennsylvania town. A post office opened in West Lebanon in 1846. It helped people send and receive mail for many years, until it closed in 1907.
