West Omaha is home to many different communities. Some of these, like Boys Town, have a long history. Other areas, like Elkhorn and Millard, used to be separate towns but are now part of Omaha. Ralston is another city that is almost completely surrounded by Omaha. Chalco is also seen as part of West Omaha, even though it's not officially a city.

West Omaha has clear borders. To the east, it's bordered by 90th Street. To the south, you'll find Harrison Street. The Platte River forms its western edge. And to the north, its boundary is Rainwood Road.
