West Region (Cameroon) facts for kids
The West Region is a part of Cameroon, a country in Africa. Its main city, or capital, is Bafoussam. This region is known for its beautiful mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. It's a place with a rich culture and many different groups of people living there.
Geography and Natural Features
The most important land feature in the West Region is the Bamboutos Mountains. These mountains are very tall and shape the landscape. Many rivers flow through the region, including the Noun River, Mbam River, and Nkam.
The region also has several lakes. Some of these are Bamendjing Reservoir, Lake Baleng, and the twin lakes of Foumbot. Waterfalls are also common, adding to the beauty of the area. You can find falls like the Balatchi, Metché, and Tsugning Falls.
