West Siberian Railway facts for kids
The West Siberian Railway is a big part of the railway system in Russia. It's one of the main sections of the company called "Russian Railways." This railway covers a large area, especially along the famous Trans-Siberian Railway.
History of the Railway
The West Siberian Railway was built a long time ago, between 1892 and 1896. The Russian government paid for it.
In 1900, this railway became a part of the even bigger Siberian Railway.

The total length of the main railway tracks on the West Siberian Railway is about 8,985.6 kilometers. That's a very long distance!
Tunnels and Bridges
Along the railway, engineers built three tunnels to help the trains go through mountains or other obstacles.
