Westview High School is a large public high school located in Avondale, Arizona, in the United States. It first opened its doors in 1989. The first students to graduate from Westview High finished in June 1993. This school is the biggest high school in the Tolleson Union High School District.

Sports at Westview High

Westview High School has many strong sports teams. Their mascot is the Knight, often called Sir West of View. The school colors are royal blue and silver.

Football Achievements

The varsity football team has had great success. They reached the state championship game in 2007 and 2008. Both times, they played against Centennial High School. In 2010, the team made it to the semi-finals of the state tournament. Westview's football team has been very strong for a long time. They have not missed the playoffs since 2005. They have also won their division every year since 2010. This success is thanks to excellent coaches. Some former coaches, like Jeff Bowen and Joe Parker, now coach at colleges. Nick Gherts is the current head coach.

Other Team Sports

Other sports teams at Westview High have also done well. In 2006, both the varsity girls' soccer team and the girls' basketball team finished as state runners-up. This means they made it to the championship game but came in second place.
