A Look Back at Westville's History
Westville was officially started in 1857. This means that its streets and building lots were all carefully planned out on a map. It was named after Dr. W. S. West, who was one of the very first people to settle in the area.
The Westville Post Office
In the same year, 1857, a post office opened in Westville. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years before it finally closed in 1909.
