Wilhelm von Finck (born February 6, 1848 – died April 4, 1924) was a German businessman and banker. He helped start two very important German companies: Allianz and Munich Re.

Wilhelm von Finck's Early Life
Wilhelm von Finck grew up in Bad Vilbel, Germany. He went to school at the Hasselsche Institut in Frankfurt am Main. After school, he started working at a German company called Bankhaus Philipp Nicolaus Schmidt.
Starting His Career
In 1869, Wilhelm von Finck moved to London to work for Nestle, Andreae & Co. The next year, in 1870, he began working for Merck Finck & Co. in Darmstadt. By 1879, he and his brother, August Finck, owned a large part of the Merck Finck & Co. bank.
Founding Big Companies
Wilhelm von Finck was a very important person in starting two major companies.
- In April 1880, he teamed up with Theodor von Cramer-Klett and Carl von Thieme to create a company called Munich Re. This company helps other insurance companies by insuring them.
- Ten years later, on February 5, 1890, Wilhelm von Finck and Carl von Thieme also founded Allianz AG in Berlin. Allianz is a huge company that offers many types of insurance.
Family Life
In 1886, Wilhelm von Finck married Marie Fäustle. They had four children together. One of their children, August von Finck Sr. (1898-1980), also became a well-known German businessman.
Awards and Honors
Wilhelm von Finck received an important award called the Merit Order of the Bavarian Crown. This award recognized his achievements and contributions.
