Who is William E. Trueheart?
William E. Trueheart is known for his leadership in education and charity. He was the first African American to lead a private four-year college in New England. This was a very important step. Leading Bryant University
Mr. Trueheart became the president of Bryant University in 1989. He led the university for seven years, until 1996. During his time there, he helped the university grow and succeed. His role as the first African American president of a private New England college was a historic achievement.

After leaving Bryant University, Mr. Trueheart continued to help others. He became the president and CEO of three important nonprofit groups:
