William John Keating (born March 30, 1927 – died May 20, 2020) was an American lawyer, businessman, and politician. He was a member of the Republican Party. Keating served in the United States House of Representatives from 1971 to 1974.

William John Keating was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. His parents were Adele (Kipp) and Charles Humphrey Keating. He went to St. Xavier High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and served during World War II.

Education and Early Career

After the war, Keating continued his education. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati. He then got his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Keating started his career in law and public service. He worked as an assistant Ohio Attorney General. He was also a judge for the Cincinnati Municipal Court. Later, he became a judge for the Hamilton County, Ohio Court of Common Pleas from 1964 to 1967. From 1967 to 1970, he served on the Cincinnati City Council.

William Keating was elected to the United States House of Representatives. He represented Ohio's 1st congressional district from 1971 to 1974. This role meant he helped make laws for the country.
