William Maule of Panmure facts for kids

William Maule himself became a Baron in 1348. This happened after his father passed away. A Baron was a noble person, similar to a lord, who owned a lot of land and had power in their local area.

William Maule's Life and Family

William Maule took over the lands and title of Baron of Panmure and Benvie in 1348. Panmure and Benvie were specific places in Scotland.

He married a woman named Marion Fleming. She was from a family known as the Flemings of Biggar. Her mother was Lady Jane Barclay of Brechin.

William Maule lived until sometime before the year 1407. He had two children. His son, Thomas Maule, became the next Baron after him. William also had a daughter named Janet Maule. She married a man named Alexander Ochterlony of Kenny.
