William W. Spearman was born on February 27, 1958. He is an American politician from the Democratic Party. He represents the 5th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly. He has held this important role since June 30, 2018.
William Spearman grew up in Camden, New Jersey. He went to Woodrow Wilson High School, which is now called Eastside High School. After high school, he studied at Rutgers University. Later, he earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Temple University.

William Spearman's Role in Government
Before joining the Assembly in 2018, William Spearman served on the Camden city council. He was a council member from 2006 to 2011. He also worked for the South Jersey Transportation Authority for ten years. For five of those years, he was the agency's ethics liaison officer. This means he helped make sure everyone followed the rules.
He was chosen by the local Democratic Party committee on June 27, 2018. He took over the Assembly seat from Arthur Barclay.

Elections and Public Service
William Spearman has been elected to the New Jersey General Assembly multiple times. He first won his seat in a special election in November 2018. Since then, he has been re-elected by the voters of his district in 2019, 2021, and 2023. This shows that people in his district trust him to represent them.
