He was part of the Bohemians team that won their first ever national trophy, the FAI Cup, in 1908. Willie scored the final goal in their 3-1 victory over Shelbourne in a replay match. The following year, he scored again in the FAI Cup final, but Bohemians lost 2-1 to Cliftonville in a replay at Dalymount Park, so they only earned a second-place medal.

Willie Hooper passed away in 1946 while he was the President of the FAI, which is the main organization for soccer in Ireland.
