Winston Abraham (born 29 September 1974) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played as a half-forward during his time in the AFL. Winston was known for his amazing speed and ability to score exciting goals.

Starting His Football Journey

Winston Abraham began his football career playing in local leagues in Western Australia. He played for teams like Thornlie and Kelmscott in the Sunday Football League.

Playing for Perth WAFL

After his time in the local leagues, Winston joined the Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He played only 8 games for Perth before being chosen to play in the AFL.

Winston Abraham's AFL Career

Winston Abraham became a well-known player in the Australian Football League. He was part of two different teams during his AFL career.

Playing for the Fremantle Dockers

Winston was a member of the very first team for the Fremantle Dockers. He played in their first-ever game in Round 1 of 1995. This game was against the Richmond Tigers at the famous MCG. Fans remembered him for his incredible speed and his knack for kicking unusual but brilliant goals.

Joining the Kangaroos Football Club

In 1998, Winston moved to play for the Kangaroos (now known as the North Melbourne Football Club). In his first year with the Kangaroos, he won the prestigious Mark of the Year award. This award is given for the best mark (catch) taken in a game.

Winning the 1999 AFL Premiership

A highlight of Winston's career was playing in the Kangaroos' 1999 Premiership team. This means his team won the grand final and became the champions of the AFL that year.
