The Wirdinja were an Aboriginal Australian people. They lived in Western Australia a long time ago. They were one of the many different groups of Aboriginal people who have lived on the Australian continent for thousands of years.
Where They Lived
The Wirdinja people lived in a large area of land in Western Australia. This land was about 6,200 square miles (16,000 square kilometers).
Their country stretched from the Robertson Range in the east to the Ophthalmia Range in the west. To the east, their land reached near Savoury Creek.
Important places like Mundiwindi, Jigalong, Murramunda, and Sylvania were all part of their territory. Their southern border went down to the beginnings of the Ashburton River and the Ethel River.
