Wish Kid is an exciting American-Italian animated TV show that first aired on NBC on Saturday mornings. It ran from September 14, 1991, to July 1992. The show starred famous child actor Macaulay Culkin, who was very popular at the time.

The series was made by DIC Animation City from the United States and Reteitalia S.p.A. from Italy. They worked together with the Spanish TV network Telecinco. There were plans for a second season in 1993, but it was later canceled.

About the Show

The main character in Wish Kid is Nicholas "Nick" McClary. He looks and sounds just like Macaulay Culkin, who also did Nick's voice! Nick has a special baseball glove that can grant wishes. This amazing power came from a tiny shooting star that hit the glove.

To make a wish, Nick has to punch the glove three times. But there's a catch! He can only use the glove once a week. Also, each wish only lasts for a short time, which often leads to funny or tricky situations. Every episode starts with a live-action introduction by Macaulay Culkin himself. The stories are all about Nick's wishes and the adventures that follow. Nick and his friends always have to figure out how to solve the problems caused by his wishes.

Who's Who in Wish Kid?

  • Nick McClary: The main character with the magical baseball glove. He often gets into trouble because of his wishes.
  • Darryl Singletary: Nick's best friend. He's the only one who knows about the magic glove. Darryl often gets pulled into Nick's wild adventures.
  • Francis "Frankie" Dutweiler: The neighborhood bully. He likes to bother Nick and Darryl.
  • Mel and Adrienne McClary: Nick's parents. Mel is a reporter and photographer, and Adrienne sells houses as a real estate agent.
  • Katie McClary: Nick's younger sister. She is voiced by Quinn Culkin, who is Macaulay Culkin's real-life sister!
