Club History
The Wolverhampton RLFC team was formed in 2010. It came about when two older rugby league teams, the Wolverhampton Wizards and the Wolverhampton Warlords, decided to merge. This merger helped create a stronger, united team for the city. Since then, they have been playing in the Midlands Rugby League.
Team Achievements
Before the merger, one of the original teams, the Wolverhampton Wizards, had a notable success. In 2005, they won the RLC West Midlands Division. This was a great achievement for the club and showed their skill in the sport.
Junior Teams: The Wasps
Wolverhampton RLFC also has a strong focus on developing young talent. In 2011, they started their junior section, known as the Wolverhampton Wasps. These young players compete in the Midlands Junior League.
The idea for the Wasps came from Daniel Poulton, a former player for the Sheffield Eagles. The junior section grew quickly. By 2012, the Wolverhampton Wasps had many teams for different age groups. They even created a special section just for girls, helping more young people get involved in rugby league.
