The Town of Woodland is a small community in Sauk County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 783 people lived there. The town is also home to the small, unincorporated community called Valton.

History of Woodland
The Town of Woodland got its name because of the many thick forests nearby. It was surrounded by trees, so "Woodland" was a perfect fit!

Geography and Location
The Town of Woodland covers an area of about 36.2 square miles (93.7 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 36.1 square miles (93.4 square kilometers), is land. A very small part, just 0.1 square miles (0.2 square kilometers), is water.
This means Woodland is mostly land, with only a tiny bit of its area covered by water.

In the year 2000, the Town of Woodland had 783 residents. There were 247 households and 206 families living in the town. The population density was about 21.7 people per square mile (8.4 people per square kilometer). This means it's not a very crowded place.
