The World's Largest Cedar Bucket is a giant bucket made from red cedar wood. It is located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This huge bucket can hold about 1,556 gallons of water! It stands about 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The bottom of the bucket is 6 feet (1.8 meters) wide, and the top is even wider, at 9 feet (2.7 meters) across.

A Big Bucket's Story
The World's Largest Cedar Bucket was built in 1887. It was made by a company called the Tennessee Red Cedar Woodenworks Company. This company was located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Traveling the World
At first, the bucket was shown in Murfreesboro. But it soon became famous! It was displayed at two big events. First, it went to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Later, it was shown at the 1904 Saint Louis World's Fair.
A New Home
In 1952, the factory that made the bucket burned down. A local grocery store, Crigger's Market, bought the bucket to display it. Around 1965, the bucket was sold again. An amusement park in Rossville, Georgia, bought it.
Back to Murfreesboro
In 1976, the giant bucket came back home to Murfreesboro. It was put on display at Cannonsburgh Village. This village is a special place that shows what life was like long ago.
The Fire Incident
On June 19, 2005, something sad happened. Someone intentionally set the bucket on fire. This act is called arson. Luckily, firefighters put out the fire quickly. No other buildings nearby were burned. The bucket was badly damaged. It became black and splintered, held together only by its metal bands.
Rebuilding the Bucket
People wanted to fix the famous bucket. On October 22, 2011, a newly rebuilt bucket was shown to the public. This happened at the 35th annual Harvest Days Festival. It was held at Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village.
Many people helped bring the bucket back to life. Roy Haney's sawmill in Cannon County helped find special red cedar wood. The Rutherford County Blacksmiths' Association also helped. They worked together to make the bucket look like new again!
