What the WCF Does
The WCF helps cat lovers and breeders in many ways. They make sure that cat breeders in their clubs can officially register their special cat names around the world.
Cat Breeds and Standards
The WCF sets the rules for 68 different types of purebred cats. These rules are called "standards." They describe what each cat breed should look like. This helps keep the breeds healthy and true to their type.
Cat Shows and Judges
The WCF also trains people to become judges for cat shows. These judges learn how to evaluate cats based on the WCF's standards. They also organize exams to make sure the judges know their stuff! The WCF helps put on over 500 cat shows every year.
Connecting Cat Lovers
One of the main goals of the WCF is to help cat clubs from different countries connect. They want to make it easier for people who love cats to share ideas and work together.
Protecting Animals
The WCF also works to help animals. They are involved in making animal protection laws better in Europe. This shows they care about the well-being of all cats, not just the purebred ones.
