Wout Holverda (born April 22, 1958 – died December 3, 2021) was a Dutch football player. He was a forward, also known as a striker. He played most of his career for the team Sparta Rotterdam.

Playing for Football Clubs
Wout Holverda started his professional football journey at Sparta Rotterdam. He was a fast and strong forward. He played for Sparta for seven seasons. In the 1983–84 season, he was their best goal scorer.
After Sparta, he moved to Fortuna Sittard. He played there with British striker John Linford. A leg injury made it hard for him to play his best at Fortuna. Later, he played his last seasons at HFC Haarlem before he stopped playing professionally.
Holverda scored many goals in his career. For Sparta, he scored 61 goals in over 150 games. For Fortuna, he scored 14 goals in 70 games. He also played in European Cup matches. He played 11 games in total and scored 4 goals in these matches.
Playing for His Country
Wout Holverda played once for the Netherlands Under-21 team. This team is also known as Jong Oranje. He came into the game as a substitute for Ron Jans. This match was against Poland in May 1979. In 1984, he was asked to join the senior national team for a game against Denmark. However, he did not play in that match.

Health Challenges
Wout Holverda was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This made it difficult for him to attend Sparta matches. In September 2013, a group of loyal fans wanted to help him. They decided to drive him to Sparta games for the rest of that season. This way, he could still enjoy watching his team play.
His Passing
Wout Holverda passed away on December 3, 2021. He was 63 years old. He died from COVID-19.
