X-Coaster's Story
The X-Coaster first opened its doors to riders on May 27, 2006. It was a big deal for Magic Springs, becoming their sixth roller coaster. What made it even more special was that it was the very first SkyLoop XT-150 of its kind in North America.
Building the Coaster
Even though Maurer Söhne designed the ride, other companies helped build it. The track pieces for X-Coaster were made by Dynamic Structures. Then, the ride was put together by a company called Martin & Vleminckx. It takes many experts to create such a big attraction!
Changes Over Time
The X-Coaster was closed for the whole 2009 season. But don't worry, it reopened in 2010 for more fun! In 2012, there was an announcement that the X-Coaster might be removed. The park planned to make their water park, Crystal Falls, bigger. However, the coaster kept running in 2013 and has continued to operate since then.
The Thrilling Ride Experience
Get ready for a unique adventure on the X-Coaster! As soon as your train leaves the station, it starts climbing. It goes straight up a vertical lift hill, which means you're going up at a 90-degree angle!
Upside Down and Back Again
When you reach the very top, the train turns. You'll find yourself tilted backwards and even upside down for a moment! Then, the train goes through a cool twist called a heartline roll. Imagine spinning around your own heart!
After the roll, you plunge down the coaster's only big drop. The train speeds right through the station and starts going back up the lift hill. But it doesn't go all the way. It loses speed and rolls back down, passing through the station again.
Multiple Passes and Re-Rides
The train then goes back up the drop and partly into the heartline roll. Again, it loses momentum and rolls back to the ground. After passing the station for a third time, the train stops near the top of the lift hill. Finally, it's slowly lowered back to the station.
Sometimes, if the operator decides, you might even get to go for a second ride! Instead of lowering to the station, the chain can lift the car up again. This sends you through the whole exciting ride one more time!
