Life of Xosé Neira Vilas

In 1949, when he was 21, he moved to Argentina. There, he met many other writers and thinkers who were interested in Galician culture and language. This movement was called Galicianism, which aimed to protect and promote the unique identity of Galicia.

In 1953, he helped start a group called Mocedades Galeguistas, which means "Galicianist Youths." This group worked to support Galician culture. In 1957, he married another writer, Anisia Miranda.

Later, in 1961, he moved from Argentina to Cuba. He lived there for many years before returning to Galicia. Xosé Neira Vilas passed away in 2015 when he was 87 years old.
