Yosuke Ikehata (池端 陽介, Ikehata Yōsuke, born June 7, 1979) is a Japanese football player. He played as a defender.

Yosuke Ikehata's Football Journey

Yosuke Ikehata was born in Hamamatsu, Japan, on June 7, 1979. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career. He joined the J1 League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 1998.

Early Career Steps

When he first joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Yosuke played as a center back. However, he did not get much playing time in his first two seasons. In 2000, he moved to another J1 League team, Verdy Kawasaki. He still found it hard to get regular matches there.

Finding His Place in J2

In 2001, Yosuke joined Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League. This move helped him a lot. He became a regular center back for the team in the middle of 2001.

The next year, in 2002, he moved to another J2 club, Ventforet Kofu. This was a very important part of his career. He played as a regular defender for many years at Ventforet Kofu.

Reaching the Top League

Yosuke helped Ventforet Kofu get promoted to the J1 League in 2006. This was a big achievement for the team. However, he did not play as much in the J1 League that year.

He became a regular player again in late 2007. But unfortunately, the club was moved back down to the J2 League in 2008. In 2010, he did not play in any matches for the team.

Later Years in Football

In 2011, Yosuke moved to Kataller Toyama. This team was also in the J2 League. He played in many games when he first joined. However, his playing time slowly decreased after 2014. Kataller Toyama was then moved down to the J3 League in 2015.

Yosuke made another move in 2016. He joined Okinawa SV, a club in the Japanese Prefectural Leagues. This team was promoted to the Japanese Regional Leagues in 2018. Yosuke Ikehata left Okinawa SV at the end of the 2018 season, ending his long career in professional football.

During his career, Yosuke Ikehata played a total of 346 league matches and scored 7 goals.
