Yosuke Ikehata (池端 陽介, Ikehata Yōsuke, born June 7, 1979) is a Japanese football player. He played as a defender.

Yosuke Ikehata's Football Journey

Yosuke Ikehata was born in Hamamatsu, Japan, on June 7, 1979. He loved football from a young age. After finishing high school at Shimizu Commercial High School, he started his professional career.

Early Career and First Teams

In 1998, Yosuke joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a club in the top Japanese league, the J1 League. He played as a center back. Even though he was new, he got to play in his first season. However, he didn't play many games.

In 1999, he moved to another J1 League team, Verdy Kawasaki. He hoped to play more there, but he still didn't get much game time.

Finding His Place in J2 League

In 2001, Yosuke moved to Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League, which is the second division. This move was a good one for him. He became a regular player in the middle of 2001. He played in 24 matches for the team that year.

The next year, in 2002, he joined Ventforet Kofu, another J2 League club. This is where he really shined. He played as a regular center back for a long time. He helped the team a lot during these years.

Reaching the Top League and Challenges

Yosuke's hard work paid off. In 2006, his team, Ventforet Kofu, was promoted to the J1 League! This was a big achievement. However, he didn't play as much in the J1 League that year.

He managed to become a regular player again in late 2007. But unfortunately, the club was relegated back to the J2 League in 2008. In 2010, he didn't play any games at all.

Later Career and New Teams

In 2011, Yosuke moved to Kataller Toyama, another J2 League team. He played in many matches when he first joined. But as time went on, his playing time slowly decreased. In 2015, the club was relegated to the J3 League, which is the third division.

In 2016, he made another move. He joined Okinawa SV, a club in the Japanese Prefectural Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. He helped the club get promoted to the Japanese Regional Leagues in 2018. Yosuke Ikehata decided to leave the club and end his playing career at the end of the 2018 season.

Throughout his career, Yosuke Ikehata played in 346 league matches and scored 7 goals. He also played in cup competitions.
