However, just a few years later, in 1891, its name was officially changed to "Yankeeburg." This post office served the community for many years, helping people connect through letters and packages. It eventually closed in 1902.
The Schoolhouse
Besides the post office, Yankeeburg also had its own schoolhouse. A schoolhouse is where children in the community would go to learn. This was an important place for kids to get their education and spend time with friends.
