John Harold Goodwin Morris (born February 24, 1902 – died September 6, 1959) was a talented baseball player. People knew him by his nickname, "Yellowhorse". He was a pitcher in the Negro leagues from 1924 to 1930.
Yellowhorse Morris was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He started playing in the Negro leagues with the Kansas City Monarchs in 1924. That year, his team won the 1924 Colored World Series, which was a big championship! He also played for the Detroit Stars and the Chicago American Giants. After he stopped playing baseball, he helped start the West Coast Negro Baseball Association in 1946. Later, in 1949, he became a scout for the Chicago Cubs. A scout helps find new players for a team. Yellowhorse Morris passed away in San Francisco, California in 1959 when he was 57 years old.
