The Yeso River is a short but important river in Chile. It flows for about 4 miles (which is about 6 kilometers). This river is one of the main "tributaries" of the Maipo River. A tributary is like a smaller river or stream that flows into a larger river.

The Yeso River is known for its exciting rapids, which can be Class IV or V. These are very strong and challenging rapids, meaning the water moves very fast and has many obstacles. The river also has many steep drops and narrow sections where the water rushes through.

This river is super important because it provides water for a big area called Metropolitan Santiago. This is where the capital city of Chile, Santiago, is located. So, the Yeso River helps supply drinking water and water for other uses to many people.
