The museum was designed to look like Yokohama's port from the late 1800s. Imagine walking into a place that felt like an old harbor! Displays were set up along the walls. A big part of the middle area was built to look like a ship docked at the port.

Exploring the Museum's Fun Parts

On the eighth floor, there was a special room that looked like a ship's cabin. In this cabin, you could see old Morse code radio tools. It was like stepping back in time to when ships used these signals to communicate! The museum offered different kinds of curry. You could choose from many restaurants inside.

The Yokohama Curry Museum first opened its doors on January 26, 2001. It was run by a company called Matahari Co., Ltd. The museum was very popular! By November 2006, about 8.7 million people had visited it. The museum closed on March 31, 2007.
