Yoshinobu Minowa (箕輪 義信, Minowa Yoshinobu, born June 2, 1976) is a former Japanese football player. He was a strong defender who played for several clubs in Japan. He also played one match for the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs in Japan

Yoshinobu Minowa was born in Kawasaki on June 2, 1976. After finishing university, he started his professional football career.

Early Career: Júbilo Iwata

In 1999, Minowa joined Júbilo Iwata. This was a big club, but he didn't get to play in any official matches. He was still learning and growing as a player.

Becoming a Star at Kawasaki Frontale

In September 2000, Minowa moved to his hometown club, Kawasaki Frontale. This was a special move for him. At the end of 2000, the club moved down to the J2 League.

From 2001, even though they were in J2, Minowa became a very important player. He was a regular defender for Kawasaki Frontale. His strong play helped the team a lot.

In 2004, Kawasaki Frontale won the J2 League championship. This meant they were promoted back to the top league, the J1 League! It was a great achievement for the team and for Minowa.

After returning to J1, Kawasaki Frontale continued to do well.

Later Career: Consadole Sapporo and Retirement

In 2008, Minowa faced some injuries. This made it harder for him to play. In June of that year, he moved to Consadole Sapporo. Unfortunately, Consadole Sapporo also moved down to the J2 League at the end of 2008.

From 2009, Minowa continued to struggle with injuries. He couldn't play much. He left Consadole Sapporo at the end of the 2010 season. In September 2011, he officially announced that he was retiring from playing football.

Playing for Japan's National Team

Yoshinobu Minowa had the honor of playing for the Japan national team.

On April 25, 2005, when he was 29 years old, he played his first and only match for Japan. It was a friendly game against the Ukraine team. Playing for your country is a dream for many footballers!
