Yoshinori Higashikawa (born September 30, 1964) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played as a defender.
Playing Football
Yoshinori Higashikawa was born in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. He started his football journey in high school and then played for Kokushikan University.
In 1988, after finishing university, he joined a team called Yamaha Motors. This team later became known as Júbilo Iwata. He quickly became an important player, often playing as a side back.
He played many games in his first few years. However, as the 1990s began, he played less often. In 1995, he moved to another team called Honda. He played regularly for Honda for three seasons. He decided to stop playing professional football at the end of the 1997 season.
Coaching Teams
After he stopped playing, Higashikawa began a new career as a coach. He started coaching at Honda in 1998, the same club where he finished his playing career.
In 2006, he moved to Ehime FC, a team that had just joined the J2 League. He worked as a coach for the main team in 2006. The next year, in 2007, he became the manager for their youth team.
In 2008, he took on a new challenge. He moved to V-Varen Nagasaki, a club in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He became their manager. Under his leadership, the team was promoted to the Japan Football League in 2009. However, the team did not perform well that year. Because of the poor results, he was no longer the manager in June 2009.
