Early Career and First Teams
Takemura played as a midfielder, which means he helped both defend and attack for his team. Even though he was a good player, he didn't always get to play in every game during his time at Bellmare Hiratsuka.
In 1998, he moved to a new club called Mito HollyHock. He played well there, and in May 1999, he moved again to Oita Trinita.
Becoming a Regular Player
At Oita Trinita, Takemura became a "regular player." This means he played in most of the team's games for three seasons. He was an important part of their team.
In 2002, he joined Omiya Ardija. He played in many matches during 2002. However, in 2003, he didn't get as many chances to play.
Later Career and Retirement
Takemura then moved to Sagan Tosu in 2004. He was a regular player there in 2004. But, just like before, his playing time started to decrease from 2005 onwards.
In 2007, he made a big move to a club called V-Varen Nagasaki. This team was in a lower league at the time, called the Regional Leagues. Takemura played a lot of games for V-Varen Nagasaki. His efforts helped the club get promoted to a higher league, the Japan Football League, starting in 2009.
Yoshiya Takemura decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2010 season. He had a long career playing for many different teams in Japan.
