Young Hickory is a small place in Muskingum County, Ohio. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

Young Hickory has an interesting past. It was once known by a different name: Meigsville. This area was first planned out in the year 1840.
Later, in 1846, a post office opened in Young Hickory. This was an important place where people could send and receive letters. The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1902.
