Yuji Sakakura (阪倉 裕二, Sakakura Yūji, born June 7, 1967) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He was born on June 7, 1967. Yuji Sakakura played as a defender. He also managed several football clubs in Japan.

Yuji Sakakura: A Football Journey
Yuji Sakakura started his football journey in school. He played for Yokkaichi Chuo Kogyo High School. After high school, he continued playing at Juntendo University. This helped him prepare for a professional career.
Playing for Clubs: His Professional Career
After university, Yuji Sakakura joined a team called Furukawa Electric in 1990. This team later became known as JEF United Ichihara. He played there for several years.
In 1995, he moved to another team, Nagoya Grampus Eight. He played as a defender for them. The next year, in 1996, he joined Brummell Sendai.
He finished his playing career in 1998. His last team was Mind House TC. This was a club in his hometown.
Playing for Japan: The National Team
Yuji Sakakura also played for the Japanese national team. He played 6 games for his country between 1990 and 1991. He did not score any goals for the national team.
His first game for Japan was on July 27, 1990. It was a match against South Korea. This game was part of the Dynasty Cup tournament.

From Player to Coach: His Management Career
After he stopped playing, Yuji Sakakura became a football coach. He worked as a coach for Yokohama FC from 1999 to 2004. In 2001, he briefly became the main manager for the team. This happened after the previous manager left.
Later, he coached the Under-18 team for Kyoto Sanga FC. He did this from 2005 to 2007. Then, he moved to Tochigi SC as a coach.
In 2014, he became the manager for Tochigi SC. He managed the team until July 2015. In 2016, he joined Shimizu S-Pulse as a coach. He worked there until 2017.
In 2018, he moved to AC Nagano Parceiro. He started as a coach. In June of that year, he became the manager. He managed the team until the end of the 2018 season.
