Where the Yungkurara Lived
A researcher named Norman Tindale studied Indigenous lands. He estimated the Yungkurara's traditional lands covered about 1,300 square kilometers (500 square miles). This area was mainly around the Bloomfield River. They were the original people of Weary Bay. Their land stretched south to Cape Kimberley. They also lived in the area of Spring Vale.
Yungkurara Family Groups
The Yungkurara people lived in different family groups. These groups were like smaller communities or clans. We know the names of at least two of these groups:
