Yuri Drozdovskij was born on May 22, 1984, in Odesa, Ukraine. He is a very talented Ukrainian chess player. He holds the highest title in chess, which is Grandmaster. He earned this important title in 2004.
Yuri has won many big chess tournaments. In 2006, he won the European Rapid Championship. This is a fast-paced chess competition. He also shared first place at a famous tournament in Cappelle-la-Grande in 2007. In 2008, he tied for first at the 4th Pivdenny Bank Cup. This was another rapid chess event in Odesa. He did very well, finishing ahead of many top players. Some of these included Boris Gelfand and Anatoly Karpov. In 2009, he helped his Ukrainian team win a bronze medal. This was at the European Team Chess Championship. His current Elo rating is 2614.

Since 2009, Yuri Drozdovskij has been married. His wife is Natalia Zdebskaya, who is also a Woman Grandmaster in chess. In recent years, Yuri has taken a break from playing professional chess. He decided to focus on his work in banking instead.
