Chess Achievements
Yuri Yakovich has had many successes in his chess career. He was part of the Russian team that won a silver medal at the 1997 European Team Chess Championship. This is a big competition where teams from different countries play against each other.
Later, in 2019, Yakovich helped the Russian team win a gold medal. This was at the European Senior Team Championship for players aged 50 and over.
