Yushi Ozaki (尾﨑 勇史, Ozaki Yūshi) is a former professional football player from Japan. He was born on March 24, 1969, in Mie Prefecture. Ozaki played as a goalkeeper for several top Japanese clubs during his career.

Playing Career Highlights

Yushi Ozaki started his football journey after finishing high school. In 1987, he joined a team called Yamaha Motors. This team later became very famous as Júbilo Iwata.

Early Years at Júbilo Iwata

For many years, it was hard for Ozaki to get a regular spot on the team. He was often a backup to other talented goalkeepers. First, he was behind Shinichi Morishita in the early 1990s. Later, he competed with Tomoaki Ogami in the late 1990s.

Becoming a Champion

Things changed for Ozaki in late 1999. He finally became the main goalkeeper for Júbilo Iwata. This was a great time for the club! They went on to win the J1 League championship in 1999. It was a big achievement for both Ozaki and his team.

Moving to New Teams

In June 2000, Júbilo Iwata brought in a new goalkeeper, Arno van Zwam. This meant Ozaki lost his regular starting position. In November 2000, he decided to move to a different club, Avispa Fukuoka.

At Avispa Fukuoka, Ozaki continued to work hard. He competed with other goalkeepers like Nobuyuki Kojima and Hideki Tsukamoto. He played in 10 matches for the team.

In 2002, Ozaki moved again, this time to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. However, he found it difficult to play much there, as Takashi Shimoda was the main goalkeeper. Yushi Ozaki decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2003 season.
