Yusuke Shimada (島田 裕介, Shimada Yusuke, born January 19, 1982) is a former Japanese football player. He was born on January 19, 1982, in Ogose, Saitama, Japan. Shimada played as a Midfielder during his career. He played for several clubs in Japan and also in South Korea.

Yusuke Shimada's Football Journey
Yusuke Shimada started his professional football journey in Japan. He joined a club called Omiya Ardija in 2000. This was after he finished high school. Omiya Ardija was a J2 League club, which is one of Japan's professional football leagues.
Early Career at Omiya Ardija
Shimada made his first appearance for Omiya Ardija on November 18, 2001. He came into the game as a substitute midfielder. For the first couple of years, he didn't play much. But from 2003, he started playing more often.
In 2005, his club, Omiya Ardija, moved up to the J1 League. This is the top professional football league in Japan.
Playing for Thespa Kusatsu
In 2006, Shimada moved to another J2 club, Thespa Kusatsu. He joined them on a loan, which means he played for them temporarily. At Thespa Kusatsu, he became a regular player. He was an important offensive midfielder for the team.
He went back to Omiya Ardija in 2007. However, he found it hard to get playing time there. So, in 2008, he returned to Thespa Kusatsu. This time, he played in all 42 matches and was a key player for them.
Moving to Other Japanese Clubs
In 2009, Shimada joined Sagan Tosu, another J2 League club. He had a very busy season there, playing in 50 matches. He only missed one game because of a suspension.
After that, in 2010, he moved to Tokushima Vortis. He played for this J2 club for two seasons. He continued to play in many matches during his time there.
Playing in South Korea
In 2012, Yusuke Shimada decided to play football in South Korea. He joined a club called Gangwon FC. He played 23 matches for them in the K-League. At the end of the 2012 season, Yusuke Shimada decided to retire from playing professional football.
