Yutaka Yamamoto (山本 寛, Yamamoto Yutaka, born September 1, 1974) is a Japanese anime director from Osaka Prefecture. He helped start the animation studio Ordet.

About Yutaka Yamamoto
Yutaka Yamamoto became well-known while working at Kyoto Animation. He was an assistant director for Munto 2: Beyond the Walls of Time.
In 2006, he became the production director for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. He is famous among anime fans for creating the dance for "Hare Hare Yukai". This was the ending song for the series.
Yamamoto was set to direct Lucky Star. However, he was replaced after four episodes due to "performance issues." He later became the president of Ordet. In 2008, he directed Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens. He worked on this project with Ordet and A-1 Pictures.
Later Projects and Works
In 2009, Yamamoto directed a short film for a manga series. This short film was 90 seconds long. It was produced by A-1 Pictures.
His next big project was Black Rock Shooter. This was an original video animation (OVA) released in July 2010. Yamamoto was the supervising director for this project. It was the first time Ordet was the main animation studio for a production.
In early 2011, Yamamoto directed the anime series Fractale. This show was produced by A-1 Pictures and Ordet. He also directed three films and a TV series for Wake Up, Girls!. He was later removed as director for the sequel series. Yamamoto left Ordet in March 2016.
In February 2017, he announced a new original anime film called Hakubo. This film was funded by people contributing money online. Yamamoto wrote and directed the film, which was released in 2019.
In September 2019, Yamamoto announced a new anime project. It is a dark fantasy anime called Magical Girls. This project is also being crowdfunded. In March 2022, it was announced that this project was paused because it needed more investors.
