About Yves Jarvis
Early Music Days
Jean-Sébastien Yves Audet grew up in Calgary, Alberta. When he was a teenager, he was part of different music groups. One of these groups was called Faux Fur. They released their first album in 2013.
In 2014, he released his first solo album. He used the name Un Blonde for this album, which was called Tenet.
Music Awards and New Names
In 2016, he released another album as Un Blonde. This album was named Good Will Come to You. It was considered for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize. This is a big music award in Canada. The album was released again in 2017 by a record company called Flemish Eye.
In 2018, Audet decided to change his music name. He started using Yves Jarvis instead of Un Blonde. He explained that Yves is his middle name. Jarvis is his mother's maiden name.
His third album, The Same but by Different Means, came out in early 2019. Flemish Eye released it in Canada. Another company, ANTI-, released it in other parts of the world. This album was also considered for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize.
Recent Albums
In 2020, Yves Jarvis released the album Sundry Rock Song Stock. Many people liked this album a lot. It was also considered for the 2021 Polaris Music Prize.
His album All Cylinders was released in 2025. It was chosen as a finalist for the 2025 Polaris Music Prize.
